For the first time in basically any singing competition show ever, X Factor 2012 decided to share with viewers how America voted on the Top 13 performances from the night before.

I must say I’m pleased with this turn of events. And I’m trying to not be skeptical by thinking they’re not true results or that voting was down so this is a ploy to get more voters then they’ll stop revealing the placements of each contestant. Of course the latter probably will happen. Who knows how long they’ll keep telling us the singers’ rankings.

Before we get to that part, let’s back up. After way too much One Direction stuff, Mario and Khloe call all four teams and their mentors to the stage to start delivering the results. One by one, the acts are sent to safety. The first batch cleared for next week were Arin Ray, Paige Thomas, Diamond White and Vino Alan.

After a break, the results continue. Sent through to the Top 12 were Jennel Garcia, Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Beatrice Miller and Lyric 145. That leaves 5th Harmony, CeCe Frey and Jason Brock. The announcement is made and 5th Harmony is the last act saved. So CeCe and Jason will sing for their lives as the judges make the decision of who stays and who goes.

CeCe’s performance was better than the night before, but her attitude is so wretched that she’s hard to watch. And that attitude will just land her in the bottom again next week. Between her horrible attitude and Demi’s even more HORRIBLE attitude, that young adults group is doomed.

Jason’s version of “Total Eclipse of The Heart” was a little weird, but the vocals were way better than CeCe’s I think it should be pretty clear that Jason would be in and CeCe is out. Let’s see how the judges voted.

Demi votes to send Jason home. Of course she did. She’s not going to send her own player home. L.A. votes with the same thing in mind:  CeCe to go and Jason to stay. Britney says send CeCe home, while Simon (for who knows why) votes to send Jason home. So that’s a tie. America’s vote will decide. The person with the least amount of votes this week was Jason. He’s the first person to go.

And now for the best part of this show (ever!), we learn how America voted and there are some shockers!

Rankings based on America’s Votes

  • 1. Tate Stevens
  • 2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
  • 3. Vino Alan
  • 4. Diamond White
  • 5. 5th Harmony
  • 6. Emblem3
  • 7. Jennel Garcia
  • 8. Paige Thomas
  • 9. Lyric145
  • 10. Beatrice Miller
  • 11. Arin Ray
  • 12. CeCe Frey

So now we know that Tate Stevens, as of this week, was the most popular contestant while CeCe Frey and Arin Ray are the least popular (along with eliminated singer Jason Brock, of course). What’s really interesting is that Simon Cowell’s heavily-pimped Emblem3 is not even in the top 5!

But my favorite part of all of this is that ALL of Demi Lovato’s acts are ranked at the Top 7 or worse. That goes to show that she is not doing the right things with them. She gave them ALL HORRIBLE makeovers. She dyed CeCe’s hair platinum. She made Paige shave her head and she dyed Jennel’s hair dark black dressing her like a hooker. And those horrible production numbers. Maybe this will be a wakeup call that her acts need to tone it down a bit and focus on singing.

I mean I know that she’s made a career out of auto-tuning and production numbers, but this is a singing show. America expects the acts to actually sing. Get it together, Demi!
