X Factor 2012 Episode 5 Audition Highlights
The fifth round of auditions wrapped up last night on The X Factor USA and we’ve got a whole new stock of voices and talent heading through to the next level. Here’s a look at four of the standouts from the Rhode Island and Greensboro auditions. Did I miss any of your favorites from the latest XFactor? Share your thoughts below.
Daryl Black – “Stereo Hearts”
Daryl Black is a 37-year-old father of five. Daryl performed a slower version of “Stereo Hearts” by Gym Glass Heroes. “You remind me of Nat King Cole,” said L.A. Reid. Daryl gets 4 yes-votes and moves on to the next round.
Dinah Jane Hansen – “If I Were A Boy”
Dinah Jane Hansen, 15-years old and lives with 20+ family members in Santa Ana, CA, performed a version of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.” “You took that thing to places even Beyonce didn’t take it! And you didn’t copy her,” said L.A. Reid. Dinah gets 4 yes-votes and moves on as well.
Sophie Tweed-Simmons – “Make You Feel My Love”
Sophie Tweed-Simmons is the daughter for famed rocker Russell Simmons. She performs Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” and wows most of the judges. She impresses LA but doesn’t win him over. All the same she gets three yes-votes and moves on to Boot Camp.
David Correy – “Just the Way You Are”
David Correy, 26, drove 13 hours to get to the Greensboro, NC, adutiions= and he hopes to connect to his Brazilian birth mother through his voice and through this show. He sang an emotional version of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are,” which ended in four fat yeses and a sea of tears (his own).
