It was a crazy night for X Factor in Kansas City when Simon Cowell had to step away from the judges’ table and Louis Walsh, a judge from the UK version, filled in for the auditions. Here’s a run down on some of the highlights from the show.

Rizzloe Jones performs his free-styling rap while taking requests from the judges and impresses them enough to earn 4 “yes” votes. We’ll be seeing more of him this season.

CeCe Frey has to perform more than one song after her “Unchained Melody” doesn’t win the judges over. Luckily she does better with an Aguilera song and gets through with four “yes” votes. I still like Demi’s “what’s on your face??” question that she kicks things off with.

Tate Stevens closes out Kansas City with his performance of “Anything Goes.” It’s another full set of “yes” votes for Tate and he’s on to the next round.

Over in San Francisco we’re introduced to singers like Ally Brooke who performs “On My Knees.” She might not convince all the judges like she did with Simon, but it’s enough to get on through to the next level on X Factor 2012.

Let’s close out the night with a little drama. Panda Ross delivers just that when she knocks it out with “Bring It On Home” but quickly finds herself needing medical attention. Not long after her audition it turns out she had to go to the hospital. Good thing she got her 4 “yes” votes or all that might not have been worth it!
