X Factor 2011 Top 5 Josh K

The XFactor returns tonight for another results show, but the pressure is lighter this time around. Instead of the double elimination we’ve seen for the past few weeks there will only be one victim to the vote. By the end of the night we’ll be down to the X Factor’s 2011 Top 4 performers with just two weeks left in the season.

Before we get to the big elimination event there will be two guest performers: Mary J. Blige and Lenny Kravitz. Both of those should make for awesome performances.

While we wait for the big X Factor results you can join us on Facebook and then vote in our unofficial poll on who did the best last night. If your votes here are any indicator, then we could be looking at, surprise, Marcus Canty back in the bottom 2. Would you have expected anything different?

I just want to throw this out there and see where it lands. I will probably be labeled a bigot but my favorite thing about this show is that the guys are doing so good without any of them having to rely on or vie for the gay vote. I have heard no rumors about any of them being gay and I don’t see any comments asking the question. That is different from most of the previous singing competitions in recent years in any country. That is a great accomplishment for this show in my opinion. I know that some male vocalists on these shows leave their gender preference deliberately ambiguous to try and get more votes from different social groups and I am proud that it hasn’t happened on this show. That would have probably been different if InTENsity was still in the competition…LOL Let’s see what response I get from that.

  Are you saying you are happy there are no gay contestants?
  
  Or are you saying that you are happy that there aren’t any contestants on the show whose sexuality is ambiguous?
  
  I only ask because in the past the male vocalist who left it ambiguous turned out to actually be gay so it would seem that they did that to vie for the votes of anti-gay people.

    get the point across. Well done.
    Suggestion , let us not get into gender bender talk,

    I was just pointing out an interesting aspect of this show versus other shows of the sort in recent history. Not trying to open any other can of worms.

    Just glad to see a singing competition without any effeminate men in the finals. Not that I have anything against someone of an alternate gender preference (how’s that for politically correct lol) but I think it skews the voting to where it is not necessarily based on talent.
    
    I mean there are some homosexual artists that I really like. Elton John, George Michael, Joe McElderry, and others that are questionable but it is refreshing that all the male contestants here are clearly not gay and yet are doing well. It might explain the less than expected ratings but I still think it is a good thing. Am I outta line for mentioning this?
    
    I personally prefer to be serenaded by a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice but that is beside the point. LOL

Much as I hate to say it, Josh could be in the bottom 2 tonight. I don’t want him to, and I think it will be Marcus that succumbs, but I still think Nicole is sending him down the wrong song path. I wish they were singing songs they personally choose to do, especially at this stage of the game. I doubt Josh will be doing renditions of Rhianna songs on an album. He needs to show everyone that he is the X guy but it is song choice. Remember when Adam Lambert did Mad World on AI? That was the first time I had heard it and was knocked out by it. I wish Josh could find that big punch song. Wild Horses came the closest.
Sigh. Just my opinion.

  asking Josh to sing Rhianna’s song, it surprised me to. Josh
  agreed to do it his way, and he did ok with it. And he also prove that even being outside his comfort zone he still won’t
  go out of pitch or go crazy out of key because he is lost in the
  song. I know you are in the same page as me, we both like
  Josh, he will win this one……………wait till he do the song
  chosen for him next week, he will kill that song. I don’t know
  who goofed in mixing last night’s song selection, I smell a RAT.

    Ha Ha, OK. We don’t get the results until late as we are far West and it is a big temptation to pull this site up and see who goes home before it is revealed on TV. However, I don’t want to spoil it too early, so I I will relax and wait for the outcome. Team Josh! >^..^<

  I personally liked Josh doing the Rhianna song. Part of it is the song because I like it but his voice was great as well.

Hello I watched the show tonight and I felt Nicole was very unprofessioanal the way she handled the judging,I mean each judge said a few words and made their decission,Then it came to Nicole she had to get all unprofessional looking from side to side from LA.Reid like she did’nt want to piss him off,instead of just making a honest decission on her own. I felt by her conduct she really was gonna vote for the young man bvut when the guess ask her for her vote then she said Racheal and the way she handled that it made Racheal feel like she had another chance until Nicloe came on with this fake ass whinny crap of hers and sent the rest of the night into an emotional roller coaster ride,Racheal I think would have handled it better if Nicole would have carried herself like a judge,I hope she does’nt come back next time because she’s full.of it’So Nicole if you’re looking at this you ought to be shames of how you acted and how you made this young girl feel. Shame On You.

  She is whiny and can’t make a decision without looking at the judges on each side of her for help cause she don’t want to let them down. That was a total copout tonite and her way of not pissing off L.A.Reid over Marcus or going with Simon for rachel, so I think I will deadlock so no-one will be mad at me and leave the decision all on me, boo-hoo (big baby). If you can’t handle it give your seat to someone who can!

They need to get rid of Nicole Sherzinger, she ain’t got the guts to let anyone down, she has to look for a copout all of the time, even within her own people she selected. She sucks as a judge! Am sick of her Simon cutdowns all of the time. Hope she ain’t in next season. I’m done with this season after tonite!!!

Am I reading the votes from last night wrong or what? It shows Marcus with 6% and Rachel with 13%. If the lowest was to go home, Marcus should have left not Rachel….

The whole show format is nuts. Mentors vote for their own even if they were outsung-so what’s the point? Never seen a more emotional performance than young Rachel’s and where did it get her? Nicole is nothing more than a candy ass airhead. I will finish out this season for Melanie and Josh but won’t be watching next year. The contestants would probably do better on their own without mentoring. I guess if the mentors vote against their own, it makes them look like failures. Big ego club?
