Tonight the X Factor 2012 Top 6 will become the Top 4 as two more acts are sent packing based mostly on America’s votes. The act with the lowest votes will head home right away while the two acts the send and third least amount of votes will go head to head in a sing-off. The judges will then vote on who stays and who goes.

Also tonight, X Factor Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro returns to the stage to perform. Ke$ha is also set to perform during the one-hour results show.

So which of the Top 6 — Emblem 3, Fifth Harmony, Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, and CeCe Frey — will come out on top and which two will go home? We’ll know later tonight, but that won’t stop us from speculating now.

Based only on our poll from last night, you guys are confident that Carly and Tate will be 100 percent safe. The person most at risk of going home based on the poll is actually Emblem 3 with CeCe, Diamond and Fifth Harmony close behind. Since those four so close, it’s hard to say. But just based on the past and my own expertise, I’ll say that CeCe goes home with the least amount of votes while Diamond and Fifth Harmony sing off for the chance to stay. I think Fifth Harmony will be safe, despite this poll.

What do you think will happen tonight? Be sure to check back for the live results and later for the full recap of The X Factor 2012 results show.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who noticed on Wednesday night’s episode of X Factor 2012 that most of the acts were freaking out because they had to just get on the stage and sing? They were freaking out that one of the themes was unplugged! They’re in a singing contest! So why are they all using those horrible production numbers as a crutch? I just don’t get it.

OK, on to the recap. As usual, I review each performance and assign the letter grade I think each deserved. Each act performed two songs this week.

ROUND ONE: Unplugged songs

CeCe Frey, Edge of Glory

Well, it was nice to hear her just sing but I can’t really give her or Demi the credit on that since it was this week’s theme. That being said it was still just OK. She’s just not a singer worth $5 million but who really is these days? Whatever, I give up on music. C

Emblem 3, Just THe Way You Are.

Yikes. This was so not good. There was no harmony. There were ridiculous pitch efforts. The song is a lame one (sorry Bruno fans). I’m just going to stop now before I get really mean. D-

Carly Rose Sonenclar, As Long As You Love Me

Well that’s not a good song in my opinion, but I’m pretty sure I’m an alien who doesn’t related to modern music. Aside from the song choice, Carly sounded great. We all know she can sing and doesn’t hide behind the production, so this was just another day for Carly. A

Fifth Harmony, Set Fire To The Rain

This was definitely one of their best performances because of the whole all stripped down thing. But if I’m going to get really critical, I can complain about the song choice and the fact that it was kind of boring. Adele songs are so overdone and I found myself yawning. B-

Diamond White, It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World

I didn’t think it was really that unplugged! There were a ton of instruments on that stage. That being said, I think that was probably Diamond’s best performances. Her vocals were there and she was really really into it. Welcome to the show, Diamond. A-

Tate Stevens, Living On A Prayer

Tate’s vocal was probably one of his best. But the song choice and performance were boring. And this song sounds weird slow. The arrangement definitely wasn’t my favorite. But overall, it was a solid performance. B+

ROUND TWO: Pepsi Challenge Songs

CeCe, Part of Me

There’s the CeCe I’ve grown to loathe and dread! I almost enjoyed her unplugged song, so I’m glad the other one is back. You know, the one who was auto tuned all the way through this performance and even left out some lyrics? Yeah that one. Wretched. F

Emblem 3, Forever Young

Well, that was better but still not good. I used to really like these guys and I thought they were going to steamroll this contest, but I don’t know what happened. I thought it was so bah. C+

Carly Rose Sonenclar, If I Were A Boy

I don’t know why this is ever an option to sing. It sounds weird even when Beyonce does it. It’s got all these weird notes and minor keys. It just always sounds off-key. Carly is better than this song, so it’s hard to judge fairly. So I’ll just throw out a letter. B+

Fifth Harmony, Fifth Harmony

That was really good and they were actually harmonizing. So L.A. Reid is happy. The judges liked them and they deserved the credit they were given. A

Diamond White, Diamonds

This performance was not as strong as her first, but it was still better than several of her pasts ones. So I think it’s safe to say Diamond really brought it this week. There were a few moments when the performance sounded whiney but it was pretty solid over all. B+

Tate Stevens, If Tomorrow Never Comes

His vocals were spot on and that was totally in his wheelhouse, but to do something I never do and agree with Demi, it was a bit sleepy. But that’s because of the song choice, and America is to blame for that. So whatever. Good job, though. A

What did you think of the performances? Who were your favorites? Answer that by taking our poll.

The X Factor 2012 Top 6 hits the stage tonight and they’re singing two songs each. One song will be the Pepsi Challenge songs picked by the fans and the other will be an unplugged song.

While the unplugged songs remain a secret, we’ve got the Pepsi Challenge spoilers for you. So who is singing what?

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.”

CeCe Frey, Katy Perry’s “Part of Me”

Diamond White, Rihanna’s “Diamonds”

Emblem 3, Alphaville’s “Forever Young”

Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato’s “Give Your Heart a Break”

Tate Stevens, Garth Brooks’ “If Tomorrow Never Comes”’

I’m loving the idea of the unplugged song and I think I know what they’re doing it. They’re doing it because a lot of us are tired of the huge production numbers that leave us wondering if any of these people can actually really sing. We should know our answer after tonight’s performance.

Be sure to check back in here for live coverage of tonight’s X Factor 2012 Top 6 performances and then later for a full recap of the show.

While the unplugged songs are under wraps, we have what the contestants will be singing for their Pepsi Challenge songs!

Pepsi Challenge Performances

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.”

CeCe Frey, Katy Perry’s “Part of Me”

Tate Stevens, Garth Brooks’ “If Tomorrow Never Comes”

As for the unplugged songs, we’ve got some teasers for you.

Carly: ”I am excited about unplugged because that is the style that I like, just a little stripped down. It’s actually not that much harder doing two songs than one because both songs are so short!”

CeCe: “I’m really excited for the unplugged song because this week we get to do the best of both worlds. I’m doing this crazy over-the-top performance and then something really stripped down.”

Diamond: “I’ll save all the performances with all the crazy action for when I go on tour. But, now, I’m focusing on my voice and simpler performances.”

Emblem 3: ”I like it. It’s sick. It’s unplugged and rad. Drew is playing acoustic guitar. This is one we’re excited about and it’s cool to show our acoustic side,” says Keaton Stromberg of the group.

Fifth Harmon: ”It’s nice to just be heartfelt and really feel the song with no big production about it and we’ve been working really, really hard on this one, and our vocals have to be on point,” says Dinah Jane.

Tate: ”I’m in my element tonight with the acoustic performance. It’s great to finally get to do two songs.”

On Thursday we’ll get our results and will also see the return of Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro when she takes the stage for a performance. Ke$ha will also be a guest, debuting her new single, “C’Mon.”

On Thursday night’s episode of X Factor 2012, two more acts went home, but they weren’t exactly the two acts I thought would be going home.

OK, I expected one, but not the other. Paige Thomas and Vino Alan were eliminated and while I sort of expected Paige to be in danger, I was surprised by Vino’s quick fall from third place.

This week the producers decided to get right down to business as all the acts were called on stage and Paige was eliminated right away. The rest of the results were put on hold as X Factor Season One runner-up Josh Krajcik returned to the stage for a performance. And it was a good performance. I’m actually going to look up the song as soon as I’m done writing.

After Josh’s performance, it’s time to find out who is going straight through into the Top 6. The acts and their mentors are brought on stage in typical dramatic fashion and the results begin. Fifth Harmony was the first act sent to safety, followed by CeCe Frey. Not many of us were expecting her to be sent to safety. Emblem 3 and Carly Rose Sonenclar are sent to safety next.

That leaves Tate Stevens, Vino Alan and Diamond White. Tate is safe. Diamond and Vino are the bottom two and will have to sing for the judges to stay in the contest. But first, we have to sit through a really bad performance by Alicia Keys.

After that wretched performance, it’s time for the sing-off. Diamond is up first and she’s singing Beyonce’s “I Was Here.” Diamond delivered a solid and emotional performance. She was really going for it. Was it a perfect performance? No, but she fought for it.

Vino took the stage next with his version of “Trouble” and while it was a great performance, it became aware that he doesn’t really have anywhere else to go in this contest. He’s not going to beat Carly or even Tate. It’s best for him to just step aside now. At least in my opinion.

But it’s not up to me. It’s up to the judges. And L.A of course votes for Diamond to go while Britney votes for Vino to go. And now for the impartial judges. Demi sends Vino home and so does Simon. So that’s that. Vino is the second person to leave the competition this week.

Thankfully, they’re still delivering us the full vote results and here’s how those stacked up this week:

1. Carly Rose Sonenclar

2. Tate Stevens

3. Emblem3

4. Fifth Harmony

5. CeCe Frey

6. Diamond White

What did you think of this week’s X Factor 2012 results show? Did America and the judges get the decisions right this time or no?
