Tonight on the X Factor 2012 only three of the four remaining acts will move on to next week’s grand finale.

So only one person goes home tonight and that will be the person with the least amount of votes. That means it was all up to you America. There will be no sing-off, not second-chances.

The leader board feature will also be ditched tonight so we won’t know how the acts placed in the voting from the night before.

The Top 4 had a pretty strong night on X Factor 2012 Wednesday night and it couldn’t have been at a more important time. All four acts performed two songs each and each performance was strong. Only one person will be going home Thursday night and after the performances the night before, anything can happen.

Round One: Their choice

Tate Stevens, Bonfire

This was very country, so his country followers should be happy. And it was a good performance. I’m not a country fan, but he had a lot of energy and the vocals were good. It was definitely one of his most entertaining performances. And it was his own choice, which tends to always be better, despite what producers think. A

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Your Song

It was a quiet and melancholy version of the song, but it worked. And just when you thought it was going to stay on one level, Carly raised it and made it something great and unique. She’s not going anywhere this week. No way. A+

Emblem 3, Baby I Love Your Way

The start of the song was painful and I got a little worried that was how the whole song was going to go, but the guys broke out their little reggae/rap slant and actually turned the song into something. It reminded me of the way they were in the beginning when I kind of sort of thought they were OK. This was much better than the past several weeks. B+

Fifth Harmony, Anything Could Happen

I thought the staging, costumes and all that were horrible and stupid, but the singing was fantastic. The song choice was good, the vocals were there, the harmonies were on. I’d say this was one of their best performances all season. A+

Round Two: Mentor’s choice

Tate Stevens, Fall

Tate slowed things down this time and the reason behind the song had a good narrative, so another smart move. I thought the performance was a little boring, especially compared to his first song. But I think he’s going to be just fine not matter what. B+

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Imagine

It was great to see her on the piano. I”m not so sure I like that she changed up the song so much. That’s a song that a lot of people would call sacred so that was a huge risk and I’m not sure it paid off. I think she should have just performed it as it’s always been performed. B

Emblem 3, Hey Jude

This was easily Emblem 3′s best performance that is unlike their last. I know that’s confusing, but what I mean is, this was good for them and they didn’t even have to put the reggae/rap spin on. It was good. I’ve been harsh on them, so I’m giving them credit when it’s due. B+

Fifth Harmony, Impossible

This was the song that made everyone think “wow this group might actually work” back during the judges’ homes round, but did it have the same impact this time? No. It was actually pretty boring. The vocals were good, but this was THE moment to really steal the show and singing in Spanish wasn’t enough to get it there. I think they had to focus on showing up Emblem 3 and since E3 actually did well, FH is in trouble. B+

Tonight the X Factor 2012 Top 4 take the stage to sing two songs each. One is a song chosen by them and the other will be a song chosen by their mentors.

Two acts will move on to the finals next week, so song choice is as important as ever. So what will the Top 4 be singing tonight? We don’t have any actual X Factor 2012 spoilers, but we do have some hints right from the artists’ mouths.

Tate on his song choices this week:

• I picked a great song for me. L.A. picked a great song for me. We agreed on both, which is always great. We actually changed my song yesterday. It was a great change. In mentoring yesterday, we kind of figured something out. He said, ‘I don’t think that’s it. I don’t think that’s the right one.’ So, we came up with another one and it is definitely the right one.

Emblem 3 on the song they chose:

• Drew: It’s the first song we ever wanted to do on this show, but we haven’t been able to do it until now. We already know this song, inside and out. I’ve written a rap for it. We get to play instruments on it. It’s a sick song.
• Wes: It’s everything we’ve been wanting to do.
• Keaton: I’m playing bass. Drew’s on guitar. And, Wes is rocking lead vocals.

Carly Rose on her songs this week:

• I think we wanted to go back to the bigger moment type songs, so I chose one that meant something to me, and that could be a moment on the show. I love this song. We’ve showed them contemporary, now they know who I’m going to be as an artist so now we can go back to the big songs because now we’re just trying to win. I think we picked the songs that can do that.

Fifth Harmony on the song Simon chose:

• Lauren: We were kind of nervous about his choice, but I feel like we changed it up enough so it could be cool.
• Camila: The things we’ve done with the songs this week are going to be a big surprise. They are both very different.

The X Factor 2012 Top 4 take to the stage this week to sing for a shot in next week’s season finale episodes.

Who will you be sending on to next week? Emblem 3, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens or Fifth Harmony?

The acts will again be singing two songs each — one chosen by them and the other chosen by their mentor.

With only two performance shows left in the season, tune in next week, Wednesday, Dec. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the Top Four finalists battle it out in the semifinals. Tune in to the LIVE results show the following night, Thursday, Dec. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), as hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez announce the next act eliminated from the competition. All this excitement leads up to THE X FACTOR two-night grand finale airing Wednesday, Dec. 19(8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Dec. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, when a new winner is crowned! The star-studded two-night event will feature special performances, surprise guests and more before America’s vote is revealed.

Last week on X Factor 2012 we said goodbye to CeCe Frey and Diamond White. The two eliminated acts stopped for their exit interviews and discussed their experience on the show and what happens next.

CeCe, who was eliminated first as the person with the least amount of votes, remains hopeful about her future.

“Obviously it sucks to go home, but this is far from the end of my career,” CeCe says. “I’m very excited for what comes next.”

CeCe received the most harsh criticism from the judges throughout the season, and I often thought that was part of the narrative they were working up for her. Her remark on that makes me think I was right.

“I’ve always gotten harsh critiques from simon and LA,” CeCe says. “I don’t always agree with them but I thank them for making me such a polarizing character. I’m happy that I have had such an impact.”

Mmmhmm. I thought so.

Diamond seems just as happy as she always is, despite being the person technically eliminated at the judges’ hands.

“I wanted to win. But my second goal was getting to top 5 or top 6. I did that, so that’s a good sign,” Diamond says. There’s only one winner. I’m just glad I’m one of those people that got to the top 5.”

Thursday night on X Factor 2012, the Final Four were announced as two more acts were sent home based on America’s votes and the judges’ input.

CeCe Frey was eliminated first as the act with the least amount of votes. That means that Demi Lovato’s Young Adults team has been wiped out. Later in the night, Diamond White was also eliminated, leaving Britney Spears with just one person left in her teens group.

So that leaves us with this Top 4: Tate Stevens, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Emblem 3 and Fifth Harmony.

The rest of the episode was mostly filler. It all started with a huge filler flashback about all the performances from the night before. That was followed by the return of last season’s X Factor winner Melanie Amaro, who debuted her new single.

Following Melanie’s performance and a break, Mario and Khloe got the show on the road. The person with the least amount of votes and first person to go home was announced, and as I said above, that was CeCe.

After CeCe’s elimination, the acts saved by America were sent on to the Top 4 in random order: Emblem 3, Carly Rose and Tate.

That means Fifth Harmony and Diamond White were made to sing for the last spot in next week’s Top 4 performance show.

After a horrible performance from Kesha, the Bottom 2 acts take the stage.

Up first was Fifth Harmony with Mariah Carey’s “Anytime You Need A Friend.” It was a good performance for them. They were harmonizing, which was L.A Reid’s big problem with them. Will he look past their past performances and save them?

Diamond White took on “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. This was a surprising song for her, but she handled it well. She seemed to feel the song more than Fifth Harmony. This is a tough one.

Next up was the judges’ decision and here’s how that played out:

• Simon votes to eliminate Diamond.
• Britney votes to eliminate Fifth Harmony.
• LA Votes to cut Diamond White.
• Demi makes it official as she votes to cut Diamond White.

It was all up to America on Thursday night’s X Factor, and if you ask me, the right decision was made.

There were no save me songs, no judges’ bickering, no cop-outs, no dumb decisions. Just pure numbers. And that’s the way I like it. So who got the least amount of votes and was sent pack? Keep reading. I’ll do this recap chronologically to avoid some whiner crying “spoiler!” on Facebook. To whom I’d say “It’s not my fault you can’t catch up to your DVR until well after the West Coast viewing!”

So the show opens with the final four performance. And I had to chuckle at Josh Krajcik just standing there while the other three were really getting into their version of “No Diggity.” It really came off as one of those “One of these things is not like the other” moments. He was so not into it.

Next we get a weird (as if there are any other kinds) performance from Florence and the Machine. Then, finally,35 minutes in, it’s time for some results. NO wait! It’s actually time for more filler about the contestants that we’ve seen 100 times already. Psyche!

Now it’s finally, finally time. RoboSteve is ready for some results. He points out that he’s announcing these results in completely random order so stop speculating who had the second least amount of votes.

First to safety is Chris Rene. No surprise there after the “Chris Rene” audience chants last night. America is love with this guy and I won’t be surprised if he takes the crown next week. Melanie Amaro is the second one sent to safety. Simon’s losing streak is finally on hold.

That’s all we get for now. Instead we have to suffer through a performance by Nicole Scherzinger (because she’s SO popular with America at the moment). I decided t keep an open mind during her song and give her an honest, unbiased review. So here it goes: I think she’s completely boring and generic. If you squint, she looks like a Kardashian. And her vocals are so trained and forced. I’ve heard better performances from Miss America contestants who literally ONLY know that one song for the pageant. Bah. Gah.

Steve’s back and as usual, he’s left all his emotion in the dressing room. He calls out Josh and Marcus again and is ready to deliver the final results. Marcus finally spends his nine lives and is sent out the door. Of course the next several moments we have Steve feeding him the mic asking “are you OK?’ “are you OK?” hoping to make him cry or something. Steve, you suck.

So the three finalists are Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik. Who do you think will win the $5 million contract next week?

Supposedly the judges won’t be voting this time around and it’ll be just America’s voting deciding, but we’ll see if that’s accurate once things get rolling.

It’s down to the last week on XFactor 2011 and tonight we’ll find out who goes home and who goes on to the Top 3 for the inaugural season.

Last night featured double performances from each singer and some were better than others. At this point, looking out our unofficial poll, the race may be coming down to Josh and Melanie though I still expect Melanie to win it all. If Chris and Marcus fall in the Bottom 2 then surely it has to be the end of the road for the man with nine lives, right?

One interesting twist for tonight will be the end of judges’ voting. According to the show last night, only America’s vote will count. Sorry, Nicole, no way for you to choke on your role this time around. Oh wait, there is. Nicole will be performing. I presume that means she’ll be singing, but maybe we’ll luck out and she’s doing that thing where they fill up crystal glasses with just the right amount of water and she makes them resonate to the tune of a song. No, no, nevermind. Here it is. Yes, she’ll be singing.

“I am performing [Thursday] on ‘X Factor,’” Nicole said. “I’m really excited. It’s a brand new flipping song. No one’s ever heard it. I just did it. It’s like, literally hot.”

A song from Nicole that no one has ever heard? Well that doesn’t exactly narrow it down. It could be anything she’s ever done! And no, it’s not “literally hot.”
