Open call audition events will be held in Los Angeles, CA, Charleston, SC, New Orleans, LA, Long Island, NY, and Denver, CO. Exact dates and times are still pending, but we’ll update the site with those details as they become available.

Online auditions for X Factor 2013 will also be available and can be submitted starting today, December 13th, at TheXFactorUSA.com.

The X Factor USA sure loves its drama and this week’s final audition episode was no different. We had some near medical scares, spitting at the camera, and a singer struggling to overcome life threatening weight issues. But it wasn’t all just drama, there were some great auditions last night on the The X Factor 2012‘s last round of auditions before the coaches head on to Boot Camp with their team. Here are some highlights of standout singers from the show.

Trevor Moran – “Sexy and I Know It”
Trevor makes a miraculous recovery from his sugar crash exhaustion and is able to get out on stage and impress the judges with his LMFAO performance. Trevor earns four enthusiastic yes-votes and moves on.

Owen Stewart – “Airplanes”
Owen introduces his own drama with separation anxiety from his girlfriend. This sad story brings sad faces from the lady judges but only earns a shrug and eye-roll from Simon. Britney isn’t convinced by LA, Simon, and Demi are so with 3 yes-votes he moves on.

Freddie Combs – “The Wind Beneath My Wings”
Freddie is introduced with his background of nearly dying due to his obesity before losing nearly half his weight. LA says Freddie’s voice is “heavenly” and Simon wants to keep working on Freddie to lose the weight and get healthy. Four yes-votes gets Freddie on to Boot Camp.

Lauren Jaurgui – “If I Ain’t Got You”
Lauren comes out and delivers an impressive performance of an Alicia Keys’ song with a voice way beyond her age of just 16. Simon gives her an immediate thumbs up when he asks her to stop and praises her performance. There’s no debate. She gets four enthusiastic yes-votes and moves on to next week’s shows.

Jordyn Foley – “Tomorrow”
Here’s another young style over substance for you to wrap up the night. It’s an enthusiastic, yet terrible performance but she’s only twelve years old so I’ll let it go at that. Simon says no, but the rest of the judges want to stick it to him and say “yes.” Hopefully it’s not Simon who gets stuck with this group for the rest of the show.

After five cities and thousands of singers, The X Factor moves on with more than a hundred contestants to Boot Camp next week. Are you ready?

The XFactor is back tonight for its final round of auditions before heading in to the next phase, Boot Camp. The show should pick right back up where it left off in San Fransisco where the overly confident 13-year old Trevor found himself in need of medical attention. I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to find out a dramatic, attention-seeking contestant had gotten caught up in such a “look at me!” moment. Gee, I’m sure that all happened so naturally. I imagine he’ll recover just in time to move on and annoy us me again this season.

Since we’re not dealing with fixed numbers like we do on The Voice it’s hard to tell just how many more singers are needed to fill out the Boot Camp phase of the show but tonight’s X Factor will be limited to just one hour.

I’m still not a fan of the big-stage audition method so I’m looking forward to the more intimate set up in the Boot Camp portion. It’ll also be interesting to see which judge gets which team and how the new judges, Britney and Demi, handle the responsibility.

The fifth round of auditions wrapped up last night on The X Factor USA and we’ve got a whole new stock of voices and talent heading through to the next level. Here’s a look at four of the standouts from the Rhode Island and Greensboro auditions. Did I miss any of your favorites from the latest XFactor? Share your thoughts below.

Daryl Black – “Stereo Hearts”
Daryl Black is a 37-year-old father of five. Daryl performed a slower version of “Stereo Hearts” by Gym Glass Heroes. “You remind me of Nat King Cole,” said L.A. Reid. Daryl gets 4 yes-votes and moves on to the next round.

Dinah Jane Hansen – “If I Were A Boy”
Dinah Jane Hansen, 15-years old and lives with 20+ family members in Santa Ana, CA, performed a version of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.” “You took that thing to places even Beyonce didn’t take it! And you didn’t copy her,” said L.A. Reid. Dinah gets 4 yes-votes and moves on as well.

Sophie Tweed-Simmons – “Make You Feel My Love”
Sophie Tweed-Simmons is the daughter for famed rocker Russell Simmons. She performs Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” and wows most of the judges. She impresses LA but doesn’t win him over. All the same she gets three yes-votes and moves on to Boot Camp.

David Correy – “Just the Way You Are”
David Correy, 26, drove 13 hours to get to the Greensboro, NC, adutiions= and he hopes to connect to his Brazilian birth mother through his voice and through this show. He sang an emotional version of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are,” which ended in four fat yeses and a sea of tears (his own).

The final week of season 2 auditions kick off tonight on The X Factor on FOX. The singers are still lining up for their chance to perform before LA Reid, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, and Simon Cowell. After this phase of the show the judges will be paired up with their teams and then head off to do their thing back at their homes. After that we’ll get more tears and drama when acts start getting cut. Of course without Paula Abdul around there might not be quite as many tears this season.

Fox has also announced that they’ll be running repeats of the auditions on Friday nights to get you caught up in case you missed anything. They’re saying they’ll be running the Greensboro auditions again this week but then again they also said they ran those same auditions last Friday. I’m guessing the info might not be correct, but maybe they’re really planning to repeat repeats.

Get ready for more X Factor 2012 tonight when the talent takes to the stage and the judges get to judging.

It was a crazy night for X Factor in Kansas City when Simon Cowell had to step away from the judges’ table and Louis Walsh, a judge from the UK version, filled in for the auditions. Here’s a run down on some of the highlights from the show.

Rizzloe Jones performs his free-styling rap while taking requests from the judges and impresses them enough to earn 4 “yes” votes. We’ll be seeing more of him this season.

CeCe Frey has to perform more than one song after her “Unchained Melody” doesn’t win the judges over. Luckily she does better with an Aguilera song and gets through with four “yes” votes. I still like Demi’s “what’s on your face??” question that she kicks things off with.

Tate Stevens closes out Kansas City with his performance of “Anything Goes.” It’s another full set of “yes” votes for Tate and he’s on to the next round.

Over in San Francisco we’re introduced to singers like Ally Brooke who performs “On My Knees.” She might not convince all the judges like she did with Simon, but it’s enough to get on through to the next level on X Factor 2012.

Let’s close out the night with a little drama. Panda Ross delivers just that when she knocks it out with “Bring It On Home” but quickly finds herself needing medical attention. Not long after her audition it turns out she had to go to the hospital. Good thing she got her 4 “yes” votes or all that might not have been worth it!

Just like last season, we got one night of amazing singers and then a night of terrible singers. So needless to say, I was not as impressed with night two of The X Factor 2012 premiere as I was as the first night.

First of all, when they feature all bad singers, there’s nothing to write about! It makes my job hard. And secondly, I’ve never been a fan of the gimmicky, staged auditions. So let’s see if I can actually pull off this recap.

The Standouts

Johnny Maxwell. This guy performed an original song and while I’m never a big fan of rap, this guy did a decent job at rapping. But but not so great at singing. And I guess that’s just kind of how it goes. I don’t think I would have out him through (you know if what I think really mattered or something). But the judges loved him, so we’ll be hearing more of him.

Jason Brock. OK, this guy… another crazy, wackadoo giant ham. Who can’t sing. No wait. He’s a ham, but he can actually sing. And shockingly well! We were totally tricked into thinking he was going to be yet another mess but he was amazing. He’s full of soul and his vocals are spot-on and controlled. Very impressed. He got four easy yeses from the judges.

Carly Rose Sonenclar. OK, I knew this cute little girl wasn’t going to be one of the terrible singers, but I still didn’t expect to hear what I heard when she opened her mouth. Her version of “Feeling Good” was phenomenal. At 13, she’s better than not only all the young singers from last season, but better than most of the singers period. Her big voice is filled with soul and she exudes confidence. Something crazy would have to happen for this girl to not make it to the live shows. She’s way good.

Pat Ford. So I’ll cave and feature one of the standout psychotics. And when I say psychotic I mean it. This guy was a little obsessed with Britney. And when he butchered her song “Circus,” she was not impressed. Actually she seemed appalled and kind of scared. He was definitely a little scary.

So here’s to hoping we get more good singers than bad when the X Factor returns next week. Are you with me and like the good singing better than the duds or am I alone on that?

Last night, the X Factor 2012 kicked off with high energy and your typical Fox drama, but it was new judge Britney Spears who stole the show. Or at least that’s how Fox edited it.

So now we know that Simon and Britney are going to be the ones who tell it like it is, Demi will be the sweet judge and L.A. Reid will be that one judge that plays it straight (until it’s time for a staged bickering match with Simon).

Tonight they’re all back again in the second part of the two-night season premiere week. We’ll get more auditions, more back stories, more drama and maybe even a look at why Britney walked off the set. I’m also considering starting a drinking game for every time a Britney Spears song cue plays, we take a drink.

The two-night X Factor 2012 premiere event kicks off tonight with the first round of auditions!

It all starts tonight at 8 pm on Fox! Tune in to see how the new judges Britney and Demi fit in with Simon and L.A.!

And just in case you’re tuning in for the first time or can’t remember how the X Factor works, Fox has share a little refresher course for you!

Stage 1- Auditions (Sept. 12-27): This is where we get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly from around the country to see who can handle themselves on a big stage, under a hot spotlight, and with the glaring eyes of four formidable judges: Reigning champ Simon Cowell, returning judge L.A. Reid, and newbies to the judges’ table, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Thousands tried out this spring in Austin, TX, Kansas City, MO, San Francisco, Providence, RI, and Greensboro, NC, and online but only a small percentage will make it through to the next round.

Stage 2 – Boot Camp (Oct. 3-10): Now, Boot Camp is where we get to put our hopefuls under a true pressure-cooker and let the drama unfold, as those who made it through the first auditions are now put to the test by learning choreography and working with vocal coaches. Those who pass this meltdown test are assigned to one of the four judges and move onto a more intimate setting to show off their talents – the Judges’ Houses!

Stage 3 – Judges’ Homes (Oct. 11-17): There’s got to be nothing more frightening than to stand in front of your mentor at his or her house and sing a cappella just feet away from their judgey little faces, but that’s exactly what goes down in Stage 3 when the select few graduate from Boot Camp to the Judges’ Houses section of the show. It’s a nail-biter for sure!

Stage 4 – The Live Show (Nov. 1-Dec. 13): Voting, guest appearances, and mentoring! Oh my! The real magic happens here. This is where our rising stars turn into superstars as they are coached on everything from song selection to style to performance by their assigned judge and set out to deliver full-blown productions of song, sight, and sizzle. The best part: You can start voting! Our live show hopefuls will then get whittled down to semi-finalists and then to finalists until a winner is announced at the grand finale on Dec. 20. Oh yeah, and we usually have a few cool special guests pop up as well. — Fox

The X Factor 2012 two-night premiere event is just two days away! That means it’s almost time to see how new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato do sitting next to Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

This week, we’ll get to see the start of the audition rounds, which again will be before a studio audience. It’ll be interesting to see how they play up the whole situation where Britney left the set and all the other drama that we’ve heard about while they were filming the auditions throughout the summer.

Tune in on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 8/7c on FOX to see who brought the house down with their vocal ability, charisma, and stage presence, and who just didn’t make the cut.

The competition is fierce this time around and not just for the contestants, but also between the judges – so expect heartbreak and jubilation in equal measure! But ultimately it is you, the fans, who decide who really has THE X FACTOR and a shot at winning the big prize.
