Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole to Join Simon Cowell On X Factor USA

Simon has delivered on his promise two months late, but we’ll take it. Cowell revealed that Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole will join him and LA Reid as judges on the upcoming premiere season of X Factor 2011 in the USA production.

Nikki Finke received the confirmation from Simon himself this weekend and promises more details on top of what she’s offered up.

[Simon] has made up his mind to bring back Paula Abdul beside him and to add a Brit singer convicted of assault who’s unknown to American audiences, Cheryl Cole. Of course, Cowell was once an unknown here, too. I understand from Cowell that negotiations for Abdul’s deal hasn’t even started and that Cole’s deal isn’t quite done yet.

Snagging Paula was a no brainer and should really put a dent in American Idol’s armor. Simon’s big challenge will be to convince US audiences that Cheryl Cole is someone they want to get to know. Considering her potential for expanding her musical career over here I think the move could turn in to a gold mine for everyone involved.

But, as always, nothing is final until the ink has dried.

It’s nice that Paula will be one of the judges, but I think it would be awesome if someone like myself was a judge from somewhere USA. I have the ability to judge and critique talent as well as anyone in the industry and could also be brutally honest while doing it… What aninteresting twist that would bring to the show?? I volunteer!!… BTW iwas at the Miami audition and though I know I can sing a storm up… I blew it…The auditions were very professional from start to finish…. a great experience!

Cheryl Cole will take America by storm. She is beautiful,talented,and love that accent. Never really lived Simon Cowell but he is a genius for getting her on X-Factor. I will watch.
