Corbin Bleu fans rejoice! Okay, now both of you sit down. Bleu is rumored to be the X Factor 2011 co-host along side Nicole Scherzinger when the show premieres this fall, says Entertainment Weekly:

EW has learned High School Musical actor-singer Corbin Bleu is close to joining the competition series as co-host, alongside previously reported co-host finalist, Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.

Sources emphasize that neither Bleu or Scherzinger are locked in, but both are close to signing on with the series.

EW also supports what we reported earlier, that Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole would be X Factor judges three and four.

No matter what happens, Simon Cowell has about ten days to work it all out because filming begins May 8th! Come on FOX, get it together already.

Simon has delivered on his promise two months late, but we’ll take it. Cowell revealed that Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole will join him and LA Reid as judges on the upcoming premiere season of X Factor 2011 in the USA production.

Nikki Finke received the confirmation from Simon himself this weekend and promises more details on top of what she’s offered up.

[Simon] has made up his mind to bring back Paula Abdul beside him and to add a Brit singer convicted of assault who’s unknown to American audiences, Cheryl Cole. Of course, Cowell was once an unknown here, too. I understand from Cowell that negotiations for Abdul’s deal hasn’t even started and that Cole’s deal isn’t quite done yet.

Snagging Paula was a no brainer and should really put a dent in American Idol’s armor. Simon’s big challenge will be to convince US audiences that Cheryl Cole is someone they want to get to know. Considering her potential for expanding her musical career over here I think the move could turn in to a gold mine for everyone involved.

But, as always, nothing is final until the ink has dried.

X Factor audition events continue this week in Seattle, but last week there were approximately 9,000 attendees at the Newark, NJ event. Check out some of the pics below from the Newark (referenced in the video below as New York, though it wasn’t) and then get ready for the rest of the premiere season’s auditions.

If you can’t make it out to the planned X Factor audition events this spring then you’re in luck because FOX is rolling out audition booths where you can go inside, sing your heart out, and then submit your audition tape. Pretty awesome idea!

Be sure to hurry though because these X Factor booths close up on April 30th!

Do you think you’ll get out there and give it a try?

Now I like Cee Lo Green, but what he told reporters last week makes no sense. To put this in context the press session was to promote NBC’s upcoming The Voice.

Cee Lo Green had the chance to join Simon Cowell on his highly anticipated singing competition series, The X Factor, but he said no. Instead, he joined NBC’s rival, The Voice. Why did he turn down one of the most famous judges in reality TV history?

“I was unfamiliar with the concept of X Factor,” Green told reporters Friday at NBC’s Summer Press Day. “I didn’t see it as distinctive enough.”

Wait. What? You were unfamiliar with X Factor so you decided to go with The Voice? Let’s review.

X Factor started in the UK back in 2004. That would be the same UK where Cee Lo has found great musical success. But we’re to believe that both being in the music industry and the UK music industry in specific, he’s still not aware of X Factor. Okay.

But Green chose The Voice because he had never heard of X Factor, he says. Keep in mind The Voice has never even aired and until a few months ago no one had ever heard of it. Quite a bit different from seven years of X Factor existing on air.

Next part. Green says X Factor wasn’t distinctive enough, presumably from American Idol. X Factor features four judges who mentor musical acts, either solo or group, and help them through the competition. Meanwhile, The Voice features four judges who mentor soloist and help them through the competition. Okay. Between those two descriptions, only X Factor distinguishes itself from American Idol by allowing musical groups. The Voice is more similar to American Idol in that comparison.

I like Cee Lo Green a lot, but that justification makes no sense when even briefly examined. Sounds more like either NBC gave him the worst talking points ever or he forgot what he was supposed to say.

Either way, X Factor continues to look for its two remaining judges.
